Thanks to his father's involvement in athletic activities,
little Kostas was introduced to sports when he was
only 4 years old. Initially he played tennis for 6
years and won several medals in inter-clubbing tournaments.
He then continued with Greek-Roman wrestling where
he won first place in his category's national championship.
Unfortunately, after a severe injury in the back (a
displaced vertebra), he had no other option but to
leave the sport. However, Kostas can't stay put for
too long, so only one year later, he started playing
badminton and even became a member of the Greek national
team for 3 years... until one glorious day in 1999...
he wore a baseball glove for the first time and in
his own words, "it felt like magic". Since
then, he's been playing this marvelous sport.
During his baseball career, he underwent surgery
on his left knee and had his meniscus removed. But
that didn't stop him either. He's been a member of
the National Baseball Team since its establishment,
and has represented Greece in Cyprus, Hungary, and
the US. Kostas' dream and ultimate goal is to earn
a place with the Olympic Baseball Team.
His dedication goes beyond his baseball activities
with the team he calls his "second family",
Spartakos Glyfadas. He is also attending college specializing
in Restoration and Preservation of Antiques and Artifacts,
and serves his country as an enrolled soldier.
