Chris grew up playing baseball at the old American
base at Hellinikon with his best friend John Michaels,
who was in Chris' words, the best baseball talent
to ever have emerged in Greece. He played baseball
in Kentucky during his high school senior year while
he was in the United States pursuing a basketball
scholarship.
Thanks to his friend, John, Chris found out about
the Amateur Baseball Federation in Greece and started
playing locally in the year 2002. Sadly, two years
earlier, his talented friend died from Hodgkins Disease
in the year 2000.
During his first season, Chris was awarded the rarely awarded MVP recognition by the federation,
for pitching an awesome game against Marousi where
Spartakos won 6 to 5. At the following Greek Cup,
where Spartakos was champion, Chris gave his medal
to John's mom as a token of friendship to his old
friend, since to Chris, it was really him who should
have received the honor.
Besides being a great team member, Chris also coaches
the Spartakos Softball Team, which has reached 3rd
place during the two seasons that he has coached them.
He also plays hardball with the National Baseball
Team and has seen action internationally and in 2004
during the Olympic Test Events where Greece won first
place in a final game against Holland. Chris was also
the only real Greek player (born in and living in
Greece) to belong to the 2004 Olympic Baseball Team.
