Number Significance:
Alex tried every means to negotiate number 13 with his fellow teammate Dimitris Tapsas in honor of the greatest Venezuelan infielders including Dave Concepcion, Ozzie Guillen, Miguel Cairo, Edgardo Alfonzo, and of course, his idol, Omar Vizquel. Unfortunately, Mitsos who would not accept any offer. Alex then decided to wear number 11 in honor of fellow Venezuelan Shortstop and Hall Of Fame member Luis Aparicio, to later realize that another player on the team wore that number as well... After many frustrated attempts, and a good deal on equipment, Mitsos finally opened his heart and agreed to resign #13 to allow his fellow team mate to honor his heritage. Way to go Mitsos!
